Ford has launched the 2019 Ford Endeavour SUV for the Indian market. The Endeavour has been a very popular car in the 7-seat SUV segment of the Indian car market. The newly launched car is a mid-cycle facelift for Ford’s large SUV. Changes are mainly cosmetic, with the biggest change on the exteriors being the introduction of a newly updated grille, blacked out headlamps with LED DRL (Daytime Running Headlamps). Ford has added a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels having a two-tone diamond cut finish. The new Endeavour gets a practical new feature too – when you are in need to open the boot lid at the rear all you need to do is swipe your foot below the rear bumper and voila! Ford has added a new colour i.e. a new shade of silver to the colour options of the Endeavour. As you step inside you are greeted by a new two-tone black-beige colour scheme for the interior layout. The Endeavour comes equipped with Ford’s award-winning SYNC3 touchscreen infotainment which now includes Apple CarPlay & Android Auto. Ford has also given the new Endeavour the added convenience of keyless entry, exit and engine start-stop button. The engine options on the Endeavour remain unchanged, however, Ford realizes that quite a few buyers in this segment are chauffeur driven and hence they have added a manual gearbox option for the 2.2 L engine. An automatic gearbox is available for both the 2.2 L and 3.2 L engines as well.
The 7-seat SUV segment is a very interesting and highly competitive one in the Indian market. The Endeavour faces competition from the likes of the Mahindra Alturas G4, Toyota Fortuner and the Skoda Kodiaq – the Fortuner leads the pack in this segment. The prices for the facelifted Endeavour begin at Rs.28.19 Lakh and go up to Rs.32.97 Lakh (Ex-Showroom). With the new facelifted Endeavour launched we shall eagerly see how it fares in the market amongst other competitors.
